A van partition, also called a bulkhead, separates the cargo area from the cab so an unsecured load cannot reach the driver under hard braking. Aluminum van partitions, cut to the van they go in
A safety partition is the single most effective piece of equipment in a loaded van, and it does two other useful things: it cuts cargo-area noise, and it keeps heating and cooling in the front of the vehicle instead of conditioning an empty cargo bay. Westcan's partitions are aluminum, lighter than a steel bulkhead of the same height, and a chipped finish does not turn into rust.
Each partition is listed for a specific van and roof height. A Sprinter standard roof partition is a different part from the high roof version, and the compatibility table on the product page says so plainly. Newer Gen 2 designs for the Transit and Sprinter install with alignment templates and take less time than the models they replaced.

Fixed partitions
A solid barrier behind the front seats, the standard choice and the most rigid. Most are offered in solid, perforated or windowed panels: solid gives the best separation and the quietest cab, perforated allows airflow, windowed keeps the interior mirror useful.
Contoured partitions
Shaped to follow the seat backs, recovering usable cargo length in a short-wheelbase van. Available for the Transit in low and medium roof, in solid and perforated panels.
Sliding door partitions
Full-height lockable doors on heavy-duty slides, giving floor-to-roof access between cab and cargo with one-finger operation. Listed for the Transit, Sprinter 2500, 3500XD and 4500, and the Nissan NV2500 and NV3500 high roof, in perforated and windowed versions.
Driver-side and passenger-side only partitions
Half partitions where you need protection on one side and walk-through access on the other. Covered for the Transit, Sprinter 2500, Nissan NV, and the smaller Chevrolet City Express and NV200.
Second-row partitions
Positioned behind the second row of seats to protect rear passengers in a crew van, or to act as a second cargo divider. Listed for the Transit medium roof and the Sprinter high roof.

Choosing the right van partition
Confirm the model year, the roof height and whether the van has one or two sliding doors, then check the compatibility table on the product. If you need to move between cab and cargo without leaving the van, a sliding door partition is the answer; if you only need protection behind the driver, a driver-side-only partition costs less space. Install the partition after liners and before shelving, since the shelving end panels usually butt up to it. Depending on the trim level of your vehicle, some modification may be required. Common questions
Do I need a van partition if my load is strapped down?
Yes, if you want the driver protected when the straps fail. Restraints slip and loads shift in ways nobody plans for; the partition is the barrier that works when everything else has not.
Solid, perforated or windowed?
Solid for maximum separation and the quietest cab. Windowed if you use the interior mirror. Perforated as the middle ground, with some airflow and light.
Can I install a van partition myself?
Yes. Partitions mount to factory locations with the brackets and hardware supplied, and the estimated install time is on each product page.
Do you have partitions for electric vans?
