Choosing the right Cadillac hitch
Match the year range in the title, then the receiver size: 1-1/4 inch on a CTS or ATS for a bike rack, 2 inch Class 3 on an XT5, XT6 or LYRIQ for a trailer. Stay under both the hitch rating and the tow rating in your owner's manual. For a transfer tank, measure the EXT bed between the wheel wells first. If you are not sure what fits, contact us with your year, make, model and configuration.
Common questions
What class hitch does a Cadillac XT5 need?
A Class 3 with a 2 inch receiver, listed for the 2017 to 2026 XT5 by CURT and Draw-Tite. The XT4 and XT6 take Class 3 hitches as well.
Should I use 4-flat or 7-way wiring on a Cadillac?
A 4-flat if the trailer has lights only, a 7-way if it has electric brakes. The XT5 and XT6 are the only models here with a 7-way harness; an Escalade with the factory tow package already has one.
Does a Cadillac need a brake controller?
Only for a trailer with electric brakes. Provincial rules set a weight above which trailer brakes are mandatory, and a camper behind an Escalade will usually be over it.
Do Chevrolet Avalanche tanks and tool boxes fit the Escalade EXT?
Yes. The EXT and Avalanche share the same bed, so the UWS transfer tanks and wedge chest box listed here are tagged for both.
